Avid kayaker Barbara Rufenacht lives near the Jordan River in the Poplar Grove community of Salt Lake City.

A former social worker with a master's degree in psychology, Barbara has for many years been the owner and manager of rental properties in her neighborhood and is highly skilled in construction, remodeling and home repair.  She is deeply involved in community affairs as a board member of the Popular Grove Community Council, a member of her local Neighborhood Watch Team, and a champion trash cleanup volunteer on the Jordan River

In her spare time Barb roams the globe looking for wild coastlines and rivers to explore, most recently in the fabled islands of the Agean Sea.
